Renewing Through Movement – with Cindy Savage

DRBI is delighted to present Renewing Through Movement with Cindy Savage.
“Wellness” is a word bandied about on the Internet, used in the titles of countless fitness books and whispered by those who have changed their diets, exercise programs, sleep habits or meditation regimens. We all seek wellness in this ephemeral sort of way, in all walks of life.
What does wellness mean to me? It means making healthy choices to lead active lives. It means choosing the good stuff—the healthiest food, the best relationships, the right physical movements for your body, and the entertainment that sooths your mind, enhances your awareness and touches your spirit. It also means letting go of the food, people and activities that don’t serve you well. Wellness is a complete package. It’s a lifelong pursuit.
When people want to get healthy, they often leap into an exercise program and immediately hurt themselves. Or, they start strong and fall off the exercise bandwagon only a few weeks into their good intentions. I say that we change our attitudes about exercise and realize that you already do more than you think you do, and if you don’t, there are simple ways to fit movement into your day to improve your strength, flexibility and stamina. Movement should be renewing, not another chore to add to your already busy life.
Some things we’ll talk about and practice during the session:
- Three moves you can do every day to stay young—and this works for all ages.
- Exercises you can do while watching a TV program or sitting on a Zoom call.
- Ways to combine movement with meditation for a mindful two-fer.
- Why breathing and balance are so important for stress relief.

Presenter: Cindy Savage
Cindy is an author, registered yoga teacher/trainer with thousands of hours of teaching experience and a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. She teaches yoga daily and facilitates Vitality and Wellness programs both in-person and online. She specializes in innovative ways to bring movement into everyday life, so that “exercising” is just part of living, not something extra you do on the side.
