Redefining Power in the New Age with with Dr. Saeid Mirafzali, M.D. MHSA
May 22 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm EDT
This online session will explore the distinctive elements of the Baha’i paradigm of power and how this should guide our personal aspirations as well as our relationships with individuals, community, and institutions.
The use and misuse of power has historically been and is currently, very consequential to the stability and health of society. The unprecedented crises facing humanity requires humanity to reassess its current assumptions about meaning and use of power. The Universal House of Justice states “In its traditional, competitive expression, power is as irrelevant to the needs of humanity’s future as would be the technologies of railway locomotion to the task of lifting space satellites into orbits around the earth.”
Participants will have a deeper understanding of this fundamental and critically distinctive element of Baha’u’llah’s revelation and how power is being practiced today in Baha’i individual and community life.
Participants will also better understand, in a more granular sense, how the traditional concept of power hinders our individual spiritual development. By better understanding the forces at play within and outside of us, we will be better equipped to achieve our spiritual purpose in life.
